Elise Catera (Associate)

Elise Catera received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Sierra Nevada College in 1988 and a graduate degree in applied linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2001. She later attended Brooklyn Law School and graduated summa cum laude in 2008. During law school, Ms. Catera was a notes and comments editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law, and published a note in the Journal discussing the application of the Alien Tort Claim Act in the context of environmental disasters during armed conflict. Following law school, she received a Brooklyn Law School Post-Graduate Public Service Fellowship and worked with the Global Workers Justice Alliance, an organization that assisted transnational workers in resolving labor disputes. She came to the Virgin Islands in 2009 to work as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Patricia D. Steele in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands. From 2010 - 2011, she clerked for the Honorable Judge Raymond L. Finch at the District Court of the Virgin Islands. Ms. Catera is a member of the bars of the Virgin Islands and New York and is admitted to practice before the District Court of the Virgin Islands.
